CLUB ETHICS
Code of conduct for coaches and managers
- Put the interests of the club first in all matters
- Promote at all times the good image and traditions of the club
- Encourage his/her players to play the game in a fair manner showing respect to other players, officials and spectators
- Welcome the opposing team at home matches and remain with the opposition until they have vacated the dressing rooms area and moved to the field
- Set a good example in terms of behavior, before, during and after each game as well as training sessions and any other club event
- Show no prejudice to any player despite his/her colour, gender, sexual orientation, race, nationality, ethnic origin, religion or ability
- Never refuse a player the privilege of attending a training session or becoming a member of the club unless the person concerned is suspended or banned by the appropriate committee/association
- Have a realistic expectation level of all players, ensuring that all taking part are treated in a manner so as not to exert undue pressure regarding performance levels attained
- Develop to the best of your ability your skills and footballing knowledge in order to pass this on to your team and players
- Work in the best interests of the development of player
- Be responsible for the facilities, kit and equipment allocated by the club ensuring they are kept in good condition
- Adhere to all rules set out by the FAI, SFAI, local leagues and the club
- Be responsible for the behavior of all spectators at their games
- Home match reports to be given to the fixtures secretary on the day of each match
- All registration documents to be forwarded to the club secretary
- Managers are responsible for checking players Birth Certificates before registration to ensure that they are playing in the correct age group
- Know that only the club secretary can sign transfer forms on behalf of the club
- Support positively all activities arranged or promoted by the club
- Assist and help other teams (when required) in the interest of the club
Code of Ethics for parents
- Encourage your child always to play by the laws of the game
- Never ridicule, humiliate or shout at young players for making a mistake or losing a match
- Do not place emphasis on winning at all costs
- Have realistic expectations for your son/daughter and don't put him/her under undue pressure
- Ensure that your son/daughter arrives on time for training and matches and that arrangements are in place for getting your son/daughter home afterwards
- Leave coaching to the coaches and respect the managers / coaches decisions
- Do not force an unwilling child to participate in playing soccer. If the child is to play he/she will do so in good time through your encouragement
- As a spectator, do not use profane language or harass referees, coaches or players. Do not publicly question the referee’s judgment and never their honesty
- Recognise the value and importance of volunteer referees and coaches. They give of their time and resources to provide recreational activities for young people
- Encourage in your child an appreciation of mutual respect for team-mates and opponents
Code of Ethics for players
- Play the game in a sportsman-like spirit ensuring fair play at all times
- Play in the designated colours of the club as requested by his/her manager ensuring that shin pads are worn and covered by socks
- Show no prejudice to any player despite his/her colour, sexual orientation, race, nationality, ethnic origin, religion or ability
- Show respect for the match officials and accept decisions made without dissent
- Show respect for all spectators and opposition players before, during and after each game
- Always turn up on time for matches and training
- Pay the designated match day subs at the time when requested by the team manager
- Be willing to learn and improve
- Always have commitment to your club and pride in your performance
- Players should ensure that their personal expectations and expectations of others are within attainable limits taking into account ability
- Players will respect the kit and facilities offered by the club
- Accept decisions made by team managers
- Bullying will not be tolerated and if you feel you are being bullied feel safe to tell your manager
